Stephen

I have known Thadeaus at least from 2003 through his involvement with the “Free Events Calendar”, and collaboration with Time’s Up! on many events. He has also been a key contributor to the “Really, Really Free Market”, “Grub”, and “In Our Hearts Collective”, amongst other projects. During all this time I have known Thadeaus, I have never witnessed any of the behavior he is accused of perpetrating on other people. That is not a denial of any of his behavior, that is just my personal experience with him.

I did see him get threatened at a RMO funding raiser in April of 2010 at the Brooklyn Lyceum, physically assaulted at a Brooklyn “Bike Kill” in October, 2010 (he did not fight back), and I know that his house and the “Brooklyn Free Store” were subject to arson on many occasions, and finally burned to the ground in March of 2011, which included making homeless several innocent people who, it is my understanding, had nothing to do with anything Thadeaus is accused of doing?

In light of these extreme events, especially the arson, I think it would be a good idea now to “beat our swords into plowshares” and look for other strategies for using our energy more positively to build the world we want to share together.

Peace
